Owners/Trainer
When I was a child, I was at a park one day where children were taking turns throwing a stick for a dog. When I attempted to pick up the stick for my turn, I was bitten by the dog. I have a severe fear of dogs from that point forward, even into adulthood. When I began my Law Enforcement career, I was concerned how I would deal with dogs during my day to day responsibilities. One day I saw fellow officers outside training with their K-9 partners and I knew this is how I would conquer my fear. I introduced myself to those officers and began learning by volunteering.
That day was the beginning of a relationship with dogs based on passion, love and respect that continues to grow stronger each day.
After several years of volunteer work, I was selected to attend K-9 Handler School.
Over the years, I have been blessed to be the handler of four incredible K-9 Partners that have taught me so much in their own unique way.
I was fortunate to be selected for K-9 Trainer/Instructor Training(the hardest thing and most rewarding personal endeavor) and became the Police K-9 Trainer for my agency.
Over my 30 plus year career as a K-9 Trainer, I have had the honor of training hundreds of teams. I continue to work, train and grow each day.
Georgia Canine started with me helping my friends board their dogs or helping them with training. They said they wanted help from someone they could trust that understood their dog. My wife Tara and I started talking and dreaming about our own business. While away at a K-9 Conference, she had 4 kennels constructed and ready for our first dogs.
15 years and a lot of sweat and tears, we have built the 54 acre, 125 dog facility that is Georgia Canine.
Our goal and passion is to offer quality and affordable dog care and training to our community.
We sincerely thank and appreciate our customers that trust us with the furry members of their family. ~ Mark
